Hyflux's Key Management Committee is responsible for driving the Group's strategic vision, formulating business plans to achieve business goals, creating the conditions for successful day-to-day operation and delivering long-term value for all stakeholders.
Executive Chairman & Group Chief Executive Officer
Ms Lum is the Executive Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer. She heads the Board's Investment Committee and is a member of the Nominating Committee.
Ms Lum started corporate life as a chemist with Glaxo Pharmaceutical and left in 1989 to start up Hydrochem (S) Pte Ltd, the precursor to Hyflux Ltd. Managing the Group for more than 25 years now, Ms Lum is the driving force behind Hyflux's growth and business expansion, and is responsible for policy and strategy formulation as well as corporate direction.
A former Nominated Member of the Singapore Parliament, Ms Lum is currently a member of the Singapore-Tianjin Economic & Trade Council, Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council, Singapore-Zhejiang Economic & Trade Council, Singapore-Oman Business Council and Singapore Business Federation Council. She also sits on the boards of International Enterprise Singapore, Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd and Singapore Mediation Centre.
Ms Lum has received many accolades for her entrepreneurial achievements including the Nikkei Asia Prize for Regional Growth 2006, the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011 and the Financial Times ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Award 2011 for Entrepreneurship.
Ms Lum holds an Honours degree in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore.
Lim Suat Wah
Group EVP & Group Chief Financial Officer
Ms Lim was appointed Group Executive Vice President and Group CFO of Hyflux Ltd in May 2013. As Group CFO, she oversees the Group's finance activities including corporate finance, treasury, reporting, accounting, capital management and investments; investor relations, corporate communications and marketing, as well as information technology.
Ms Lim joined Hyflux in January 2011 as Senior Vice President, Finance where she was responsible for the full spectrum of the Group's financial accounting and reporting activities globally.
Prior to joining Hyflux, Ms Lim spent 23 years with Hewlett Packard where she held various senior management positions in Finance spanning controllership and business finance in country, regional and global roles. She last served as Senior Director, Head of Finance for Singapore, South East Asia and Asian Emerging Countries.
Ms Lim graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University on a merit scholarship from the Overseas Union Bank. She completed the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme in 2002.
Wong Lup Wai
Group EVP & Group Chief Operating Officer
Mr Wong is Group Executive Vice President and Group Chief Operating Officer. He oversees the Group's channel sales, sales operations, global projects design, execution, and operations and maintenance portfolio; manufacturing of membranes and membrane standard systems; and quality, environment, health and safety; and logistics.
Mr Wong spent 25 years with Philips Electronics Singapore, including a three-year stint at Philip's joint venture factory in Suzhou, China where he had global roles in general management, operations management, project management, purchasing and innovation and development. He was the Managing Director of Philips Singapore from 2009 to 2012. Under his leadership, Philips Singapore won the inaugural Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices Exemplary Employer Award in 2010.
Mr Wong holds a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Master in Business Administration from the Nanyang Technological University.
Cheong Aik Hock
Mr Cheong is Group Executive Vice-President. He oversees the Group's emerging power business, as well as the Group's legal activities, corporate governance and compliance.
Mr Cheong joined Hyflux in May 2008 as Vice-President in the Legal division. He assumed the position of Senior Vice-President of the Group Business Legal division in March 2013, where he oversaw legal matters relating to the Group's various business activities worldwide, including Intellectual Property matters, and all infrastructure and project-related legal matters such as joint ventures, water concession agreements, EPC and O&M contracts, and project financing documentation.
Prior to joining Hyflux, he spent 10 years with a regional law firm where he started off handling commercial dispute resolution matters for both local and international clients, and subsequently practiced as a corporate lawyer with the corporate finance department. He last served as a partner in the corporate department of the firm.
Mr Cheong graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Law from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1998.
Chang Cheow Teck
Mr Chang is Group Executive Vice President, Operations. He works with the Group Chief Operating Officer to manage and oversee the Group's global operations.
Prior to joining Hyflux in November 2017, Mr Chang spent more than 30 years of his career with the Singapore Air Force as well as with the ST Engineering group of companies where he held various management positions. He last held the position of President, Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd, the world’s largest airframe maintenance company with a staff strength of 10,000 located across the United States, Europe, China, Australia and Singapore.
Mr Chang holds a First Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and completed the Program For Management Development at Harvard University in 1999.
The Management Committee implements the Group's vision and executes global operational plans.
